MORRIS - Mary C (née Brennan), (Terenure, Dublin formerly Westport, Co. Mayo) - On the first anniversary of our beloved Mary leaving us, her husband George, sons Oran and Cathal, brother Kieran, sister Genie and her extended family wish to express our sincere gratitude to all those who sympathised and supported us following her passing. Thanks to the relatives, friends, neighbours, and Mary’s past pupils who visited, phoned, messaged, sent Mass cards and letters of sympathy, and shared kind words and stories online.

Many thanks to those who travelled near and far to say their final goodbye to Mary. We would also like to thank the paramedics and ICU staff at St. James Hospital. Mary received truly exceptional care and was treated with respect and dignity throughout her time there. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our deepest gratitude.  

LALOR - Patricia (née Jacob), Silverfort, Fethard, Co Tipperary, passed away peacefully in her 101st year on January 1, 2024. Beloved mother of Suzanne, Barry and Godfrey. Also sadly missed by her six step-children and eight grandchildren. Many thanks to Oakdale Nursing Home for their kindness and care. Funeral at Magorban Church, Fethard, Co Tipperary, tomorrow (Friday, January 5) at 2.00pm. Family flowers only.

HEALY, (née Spillane) Mary (Rathgar, Dublin) - December 29th, 2023, in her 98th year, peacefully in the kind care of the staff of Orwell Nursing Home. Beloved wife of the late Lt. Col. D.J. (Tim) Healy. Predeceased by her brother Bill and sisters Nancy and Rosemary. She will be sadly missed by her sister-in-law Sheila, her nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Funeral Mass on Thursday morning, January 11th, at 10am at St. Joseph’s Church, Terenure, followed by burial at Shanganagh Cemetery. HILL - Mildred  (née Dowse) (passed January 4, 2008) - Lovingly remembered by her husband Alex, daughter Jenny and son-in-law Gavin and missed by her grandchildren Aaron and Anna. Also missed by her brother Leslie and Sarajane and Andrew.

McNAMARA, Professor Seán (Seacrest, Knocknacarra and formerly of Newcastle Upper, Galway) - 1 January, 2024. Peacefully at Galway University Hospital with his loving wife Pat and family by his side. Deeply missed by his wife, sons Niall and Eric, brother Matt, sisters Jo and Nuala, daughters-in-law Ruth and Mei and grandchildren Kate, Orla, Aisling and Jade, many nieces and nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. A visionary leader and distinguished educator who played a pivotal role in establishing the Department of Mechanical Engineering at University College Galway and served as Head of the Department of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering at the National University of Ireland, Galway. The loss of Seán is deeply felt by all who knew him. Very sadly missed by her husband Eamon, sons Leigh and Evan, daughters-in-law Carolyn and Neasa, grandchildren Laura, Emily, Henry, Sarah, Grace and Tommy, her sisters Noreen and Ann, brother and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, her extended family and her wide circle of friends.
