LYONS - Anthony (Tony) (late of Ashfield, Raheen, Limerick, Churchtown, Dublin, originally from Lisselton, Co. Kerry and late lecturer at Mary Immaculate College Limerick) - Tony passed away peacefully in HDU at University Hospital, Limerick, after a long illness, on February 23, 2024, surrounded by his heartbroken family, his loving wife Sadhbh, son Eoghan and daughter Aisling. Tony will be sadly missed by his mother Peg, sister Margaret, brother Patrick, sister-in-law Breda, nephews Seán and Pádraig and Eoghan’s fiancé Ciara, extended Lyons and Barrett families and friends. We would sincerely like to thank everyone who attended the house for his repose, Shannon Crematorium, sent letters, cards and online condolences and all our kind neighbours and friends and colleagues for all the refreshments they brought to the house. Your kindness and generosity will never be forgotten, in particular the neighbours who spent four hours managing traffic in Ashfield.
A special thanks to Dr. Liam Casserly and The Dialysis Staff and Heart Clinic Staff in University Hospital, Limerick who cared for Tony throughout his long illness. A special thank you to Seana, Nurse Manager in HDU, who made Tony’s passing so bearable for us.
Thanks to Thompson’s Funeral Home, Shannon Crematorium and Eve Stafford, Civil Celebrant for their professionalism and dignity. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our heartfelt gratitude.
May Tony rest in peace.
Tony’s months mind mass is on Friday March 22 at 7pm in the Chapel in Mary Immaculate College, Limerick.
