HUXLEY, George Leonard

A good man, a good scholar and a great defender of the Humanities. He was one of the small group that lobbied the Irish government for the creation of an Irish National Endowment for the Humanities and argued strongly for the retention of Classical Studies at the Queen's University of Belfast. Though rebuffed, these efforts were one of the factors leading eventually to the creation of an Irish Research Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences.

CROWE, David

Deepest condolences to Jennifer and all the Crowe family on Dave's sad passing. He was my doubles partner in Claremont LTC for about 8 years from the late 60's and was the same great person that I remember when we re-connected a few years ago.
