GALLAGHER, Professor Tom, (Churchtown, Dublin and Roanmore, Waterford), December 4, 2022, after a short illness, in the gentle care of the staff at Mount Carmel Community Hospital. Reunited with his beloved Thelma at last and at peace. He will be greatly missed and remembered with so much love by his brothers Michael and Niall and Niall’s wife Blánaid, his daughters Siobhán and Kathi, his son Colm who took such wonderful care of him since he lost his soulmate Thelma, his son-in-law Michael, his adored grandchildren Medb, Conor, Niamh and Nathan, his nephew Ray, his nieces Michelle and Laura, his friends and colleagues from UCD Electrical and Electronic Engineering, his many friends from Elm Park Golf and Sports Club and from his beloved Waterford. Funeral Mass this (Wednesday) morning at 10.00am in the Church of the Good Shepherd, Churchtown, followed by cremation at Mount Jerome. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired to Focus Ireland.

On our adored Dad’s first anniversary, Siobhan, Kathi and Colm, Dad’s son-in-law Michael, and his beloved grandchildren, Medb, Conor, Niamh and Nathan would like to express our heartfelt thanks to our extended family, friends, neighbours, Dad’s colleagues in UCD and his many friends from Elm Park, where he spent countless happy hours, for their support and kindness during our sad loss. Dad is now reunited with his soulmate, Thelma, who predeceased him in March 2020 and without whom he was bereft. We are so grateful to everyone who attended Dad’s funeral and sent cards and letters of sympathy which have been a great comfort to us. Please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude and appreciation to all.
