WHITE, Stephen Leonard

I'm very sorry to learn of Stephen's death. He was a giant in the field of Soviet and post-Soviet Russian politics, his work has been part of my life for the last forty years from the time that I was an undergraduate. He was always very kind to me, and helped my career and those of many others in so many ways, big and small. We all have a lot to thank him for and he will be remembered for a long time to come. My condolences to all the family and especially to Ishbel, who with Stephen welcomed so many of us to Glasgow over the years,
