LANE - Esther (née Canavan), Ballsbridge, Dublin 4, formerly of Clifden, Co. Galway, April 24. Peacefully, at her home, after a brief illness borne with dignity and courage, surrounded by her family, close friend and devoted carers. Beloved wife of Seán and loving mother of Stephen, John and Jeanette. She will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, sons, daughter, daughters-in-law Sylvia and Jennifer, Jeanette’s partner Juan, cherished grandchildren Ruby, Jade, Erica, Sylvia, William, Henry and Eve, her brother Thomas, sisters Helen, Carmel and Barbara, her extended family, neighbours and friends. Predeceased by her late sisters Kathleen and Pauline. Esther was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, always focused on the well being of others. In addition, she made a valued contribution to many lives through her years of work with the Irish Lung Foundation, which she founded and led for over forty years. Her kindness, generosity and commitment to others will be long remembered. The family wish to extend their sincere thanks to the wonderful team at Caremark for the care and support shown to Esther in her final days. May she rest in peace. Reposing at Fanagans Kimmage Funeral Home on Wednesday evening (April 29) from 5pm to 7pm. Removal on Thursday morning (April 30) to the Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome, Harold’s Cross, arriving for a Funeral Service at 10am, followed by cremation. House Private.
