LANE - Esther (née Canavan), Ballsbridge, Dublin 4, formerly of Clifden, Co. Galway, April 24. Peacefully, at her home, after a brief illness borne with dignity and courage, surrounded by her family, close friend and devoted carers. Beloved wife of Seán and loving mother of Stephen, John and Jeanette. She will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, sons, daughter, daughters-in-law Sylvia and Jennifer, Jeanette’s partner Juan, cherished grandchildren Ruby, Jade, Erica, Sylvia, William, Henry and Eve, her brother Thomas, sisters Helen, Carmel and Barbara, her extended family, neighbours and friends. Predeceased by her late sisters Kathleen and Pauline. Esther was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, always focused on the well being of others. In addition, she made a valued contribution to many lives through her years of work with the Irish Lung Foundation, which she founded and led for over forty years. Her kindness, generosity and commitment to others will be long remembered. The family wish to extend their sincere thanks to the wonderful team at Caremark for the care and support shown to Esther in her final days. May she rest in peace. Removal on Thursday morning (April 30) to the Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome, Harold’s Cross, arriving for a Funeral Service at 10am, followed by cremation. House Private. COATES - Sr. Aedris OP, St. Mary’s, Dominican Convent, Cabra, formally of Convento Do Bom Sucesso, Lisbon, on 27th April 2026, peacefully, in the care of the staff of Santa Sabina House, Cabra. Deeply regretted by her brother Denis, her nieces Sue, Aileen, and Liz and Alex her nephews Richard, Francis, Dermot, her sisters-in-law Helen and Margaret, great nieces and great nephews, her Dominican Sisters, relatives and friends. Predeceased by her parents George and Mary Jo Coates, her sisters and brother Flora, Terry, and Ann. Rest in Peace. Removal to St. Mary’s Dominican Convent, Cabra on Thursday 30th April 2026 at 4.00 pm, Evening Prayer at 5pm. O'CONNELL - April 26, 2026, (Rathfarnham, Dublin and formerly of Donegal). Died peacefully in the excellent care of the staff at Tallaght University Hospital. Deeply regretted by his loving family, Seamus, Pamela, Stephen and Olwyn, his nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, extended family, neighbours and friends. Richard will repose at Stephen house on Tuesday, April 28 from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral Mass will take place in the Church of the Annunciation, Rathfarnham, on Wednesday, April 29 at 10am, followed by burial in Mount Venus Cemetery.

(née Healy) – Nuala (Glenageary, and formerly of Dalkey and Courtown Demesne) 26th April 2026, aged 96, peacefully and surrounded by her family, in the wonderful care of the staff at Newtownpark House. Predeceased by her husband Seán and by her sons-in-law Ray and James. Nuala will be sadly missed by her children Brendan, Aoife, Emer, Eithne and Niamh, their partners Rose, Mike, Rupert and Frank, her grandchildren Maedhbh, Seán and Fergus, Ciara, Niamh and Ronan, Colm and Rachel, Lucy and Charlotte, Cian and Conor, her twelve great-grandchildren, her sisters Emer (Higgins) and Anne (O’Reilly), her nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.
