STARKEN C.S.SP., Rev. Brian (Kimmage Manor, late of Kilcormac, Co Offaly and Lyreacrompane, Co. Kerry) Died on Tuesday 29th October 2024. Missionary in Ireland and Sierra Leone. Son of the late Elizabeth (née Cloonan) and Henry Starken. Deeply regretted by his brother Pat and sisters-in-law Nora and Pauline, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand -nephews, great-grand-nephew, extended family, friends and fellow Spiritans. Predeceased by his sisters Marie (Noone) and Sr Elizabeth Pacelli PBVM, his brothers Hal, Frank and Gabriel, nephew Gabriel and great-grand-nephew Éanna. Rest in Peace. Reposing in the Church of the Transfiguration, Bawnogue D22 F2C2 on Friday (1st November) from 6pm with prayers at 7pm. Removal on Saturday morning to the Church of the Holy Spirit Kimmage Manor D12 WP44 for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by burial in Dardistown Cemetery.

MURPHY, Mary Josephine (Marie) nee O' Keeffe, Lí Sulla, Carrowmeer, Newmarket-on-Fergus, Co. Clare. 27th October 2024 died peacefully surrounded by her family under the care of the University Hospital Limerick Trauma Ward, shortly after celebrating her 90th birthday. Former church organist for many years in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Newmarket-on-Fergus and previously in Mary Immaculate Church, Shannon. Piano teacher to countless children in Shannon and Newmarket-on-Fergus. Predeceased by her beloved husband Kevin (Met Eireann). Loving mother of Enda Sterne (Livermore, California, USA), Keefe Murphy (South Cumbria, United Kingdom) and Martine Greenlee (Reillanne, France). Sadly missed by her children, sons-in-law Philip Sterne and George Greenlee, daughter-in-law Tansy Hardy, adored grandchildren Catherine, Robert, Tansy, Aideen and her husband Matt, great-granddaughter Lorena, and dear friend and support Sean Slattery. The family greatly appreciates the Clarecare carers, whose compassionate and diligent attention enabled her to stay in her home as long as she did. May she Rest in Peace. Marie will repose in McMahon's Funeral home, Newmarket-on-Fergus this Friday (November 1st) from 7.00pm to 8.00pm, followed by removal to Our Lady of the Rosary Church. HOGAN, Anthony (Tony), Hillside, Birr, Co. Offaly and formerly of Rossmore, Woodford, Co. Galway, died peacefully on October 28th, 2024, in the wonderful care of his family and the nurses and staff of The Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore. Predeceased by his beloved daughter Ann and his brother Conor. TONER, Tom passed away peacefully, in the gentle care of the doctors, nurses and staff of St. Vincent’s Private Hospital. Husband of the late Audre (née Isdell) and beloved father of Kevin, Oonagh, David and Alan. He will be profoundly missed by his sons and daughter and their partners Victoria, Andrew, Rose, and Ines, his treasured grandchildren Namkha, Riga, and Kyichu, Joshua and Luke, Mika and Naoise. He is the much-loved brother of Sue and the late Bernie and Frank, and will be sorely missed by his nieces Siobhan and Suzanne, and nephew Desmond, as well as the extended Toner family, neighbours, and a wide circle of friends and colleagues. May he Rest in Peace. A gathering of family and friends will take place at the family home on Tuesday (29th October) from 5.00pm to 8.00pm. Removal Wednesday morning (30th October) to St. Mary’s Church Haddington Road to arrive for 10.00am Funeral Mass. He will be laid to rest with Audre afterwards in Deans Grange Cemetery.
