CULLINANE - Denis (Mullingar and formerly of Mountrath) retired Garda Superintendent. November 13, 2025, at home surrounded by his family. Dearly beloved husband of Ita (O’Neill). Much loved Dad of Denise, Shelley, Kitty, Garry, Pearse, Barbara and Shane. Adored Grandad and storyteller to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sadly missed by his sister Rita O’Donovan (Mallow), daughter-in-law and sons-in-law, sisters and brothers-in-law, his many nieces, nephews, extended family, good friends, neighbours and former colleagues at An Garda Síochana. Predeceased by his sister Mary Ramsbottom and brothers Michael and John. Reposing at Gilsenan's Funeral Home Mullingar (N91 K660) today Friday from 4pm to 6pm followed by Removal to the Cathedral of Christ the King arriving at 6.30pm.

Denis's Funeral Mass tomorrow Saturday at 11am. Burial afterwards in Ballyglass Cemetery.

MAHER - The death has occurred of Elizabeth (Betty) Maher (née Kennedy), Castlemoyle, Boherlahan Cashel and Ross, Golden, Co. Tipperary, November 12, 2025, in the kind and gentle care of All the Staff at Padre Pio Nursing Home, Holycross. In her 98th year, Betty was a generous and intellectual soul who loved her time in UCD Earlsfort Terrace. Predeceased by her beloved husband T.J., infant daughter Mary, sons Thomas and Denis, sisters Maighréad, Mary and Mona, brothers Tom and Jack. Sadly missed by her loving daughter Julianne and her partner Robin, grandsons Colin and his partner Mara, Donncha and his partner Tina, great-grandchildren Hailie and Thomas, nephews, nieces, relatives, wonderful neighbours and friends. Reposing at Devitt’s Funeral Home this Friday evening from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.
