Greetings

KENNEDY, Sr. Stanislaus (Treasa)

Stan was one of the founders of ‘the course’ in Kilkenny in the ‘70’s, in The School of Social Education, Sion Rd. Stan saw the need for training of young people working with vulnerable children in new of care. Stan inspired students to take a journey of self development and reflection that led to lifelong learning, friendships, and relationships. Stan’s legacy is everlasting.

How can I ever thank that so noble a priest gifting me with his words, words communicated through him to all of us, words from God.

HARGADEN, Deirdre

My deepest sympathy to Ruth, Sarah and Debbie on the loss of your mother Deirdre. I pray that Lord Jesus Christ will comfort and console you and your families in this time of grief! Remember HE weaves all things for good. "And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." Acts 16:31 King James Version

DOWNEY, Very Rev. Martin Canon Downey

I went to school with Fr Martin Downey at Colaiste Mhuire in Galway city. He was in my year at St Mary’s. He was a fine person and a caring and humble man. St Joseph’s was lucky to have him. He was the priest for my father and mothers funerals in the last few years and he did such a great job and he knew them well so it wasn’t your ordinary funeral but more like a kind of celebration- at least for me anyway. God will have Mercy on this good priest and I am certain that right now he is with the best of people in the best of places. May he rest in eternal peace and joy.

CURRY, Greg

My deepest sympathy to Angela and family. I only realised today when I was on Facebook to see if Greg was in South Africa or Ireland. I am deeply shocked at Greg’s passing. I lost touch nearly 20 years ago. You were all very supportive when I was going through my divorce. Greg and I had so much fun and work experiences together. He was a tower of strength and an outstanding work companion as we delivered North/South programmes together. I have so many good memories of our time together.

MARKHAM, John

I worked closely with John at CIE from 1970 to 1971 and we became not only great working colleagues who published a number of research papers and a monograph together, but also close friends. More important than the research, I became very friendly with John and discovered that he was a person of complete honesty and integrity whom ten years after his death I miss still greatly. Rest in peace John.
