BURTON, Derek (Curtlestown, Enniskerry, Co Wicklow) – December 21, 2023, at King’s College Hospital, London. Derek has taken his last walk around his forest in Barnamire. “Ahhh Pappy” won't be heard again. He has had a great life with no regrets and his legacy will live on. So raise a glass to DB to celebrate his life. There will be a gathering for family, friends and associates on Thursday (Jan.11) from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at Colliers Funeral Home, Old Connaught Avenue, Bray. Stalwart of Tallaght University Hospital and University College Dublin Boat Club) - Beloved husband of Colleen, father to his proud children Tara, Iain, Emmett and Aoife. Dear brother to Willie, Maura, Jacinta, Benedicta, Hugh and Anita. Favourite father-in-law to Dermot and Eibhlin. Understatedly devoted grandfather to Lucian, Auberon, Jeremiah and Saileog. Deeply regretted by his brothers and sisters-in-law. Relentless in his pursuit of excellence across all facets of his career and passions, unyielding in defence of his beliefs. Martin was known for his unparalleled principles, integrity and honesty. A gentleman who gave it his all, he will be remembered as an exemplary surgeon, colleague, advocate, mentor, athlete, coach and friend. A man who leaves an incredible legacy. He was a gift to us all. RIORDAN (née Frizelle) - December 17, 2014 (peacefully at home) in the arms of her family, Anne, wife and best pal of Bill, adored mother of Mary, Billy and Vicky, special granny to Emily, Jessica, Kate and Allison, fond mother-in-law of Dave, Fran and Ray, big sister of Mary O' Connor, after a titanic struggle bravely fought to the finish. She will be greatly missed by her nieces, nephews, extended family and a wide circle of friends. Reposing today (Thursday) at her home from 5pm to 8pm. Removal tomorrow (Friday) to Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Church, Foxrock arriving 9.50am for 10am Funeral Mass followed by burial in Shanganagh Cemetery. Family flowers only please.
