SMYTH, James William (Willie) (Clontarf, Dublin, proprietor of J. W. Smyth Raheny and Portmarnock) – January 18, 2025, suddenly but peacefully at home, in the presence of his loving wife Mary, cherished father of David, Brendan and Emer. He will be sadly missed by his family, daughters-in-law Deirdre and Aoife, grandchildren Níamh, Maeve, Rónán, Fina, Conor, Orla and Cormac, brother-in-law James Fahey (USA), nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours. Pre-deceased by his brother Donal and niece Jackie. Reposing at the Fanagan Kirwan Funeral Home, Fairview Strand tomorrow (Thursday, Jan. 23) from 5pm until 7pm. Funeral on Friday (Jan. 24) to St. Anthony’s Church, Clontarf arriving for 10am Requiem Mass. Cremation afterwards in the Dardistown Crematorium. Family flowers only. PURSER - Dr. WFC (Michael), Knockanree, Avoca, Co. Wicklow and formerly of Killiney, Co. Dublin, who died peacefully on January 19, 2025, in his  eight-eighth year, surrounded by his loving family.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife Helen, sons Lewis, Vasco, Paddy, Max and Joe, daughters-in-law Mélanie, Sonja, Lesley-Anne, Joanie, brother John, fourteen grandchildren, relations, neighbours and friends, at home and abroad.

Arriving for 7pm prayers on Thursday, January 23, to the Holy Trinity Church, Castlemacadam, Avoca, Co. Wicklow. Michael’s Funeral Service will take place on Friday, January 24, at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining churchyard.

CREEDON, Mary J. (née Davison) (Formerly of Fargo, North Dakota U.S.A, late of Templeogue and K.C.R Dublin) 20th January 2025. Peacefully in her 98th year. Predeceased by her husband Cornelius (Con) and her darling son Bobby (Diddles). Beloved mother of Laura (Andrews), Con and Martin, mother-in law to Pam, Mary and Margaret. Dear grandmother to Emma, Hannah, Hollie, Rachel, Alice, Kate, Matthew, Cillian and Jack, great grandmother to Willow, Aria, Juliette, Milo and Noah. Sadly missed by her loving family, also her nieces, nephews, many Creedon and McGlade cousins in both Kerry and Northern Ireland. Mary’s family would like to express their thanks to the staff and matron of Dunlavin Nursing Home, who looked after Mary so well, over the past few years. Removal on tomorrow (Thursday) to the Church of the Holy Spirit, Kimmage Manor D12 WP44 for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by burial at Kilmashogue Cemetery.

MULCAHY, Roderic (Sandymount, Dublin 4) 20th January 2025, peacefully at the Blackrock Hospice. He will be very sadly missed by his loving daughters Shirley and Jillian, son-in-law Kevin, grandchildren Millie, Hugo, Charlie and Alex, his sister Emer, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Removal tomorrow Thursday morning, to St. Mary's Church, Star of the Sea, Sandymount arriving at 9.30am for 10am Funeral Mass. A private family cremation will take place following the mass. Deeply missed by his sisters Theresa and Kathleen, his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends. Ronald’s Funeral Mass will take place at 9.45 am at the Church of Perpetual Succour, Foxrock on Thursday morning 23rd January followed by burial at Kilternan Cemetery Park.
