MESCAL - Mairéad (née Cleary) (Cree, Co. Clare) July 12,  2023 - 

Mairéad died peacefully July 12, 2023 at University Hospital Limerick, after a long illness, bravely borne.  

Predeceased by her beloved husband Michael and infant son Michael. Mairéad will be sadly missed by her loving family, daughter Mary, sons Paul, Paudie, Derry, Mike and John, daughters-in-law Dearbhla, Muireann, Karina and Nora and son-in-law Paul. She will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Paul, Donnacha, Morgan, Wayne, Luke, Aoife, Nell, Seán, Jenya, Aoibhínn, Clodagh, Conor, Paraic, Joe and Darragh Jim, sister Anna, brothers PJ and Frank, sister-in-law Vinnie, god-daughter Helen, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends. Reposing today (Friday) at her home (V15TW50) from 4.00pm to 8.00pm. Removal from her residence  tomorrow (Saturday) Requiem Mass in

Cree Church (V15H337) at 11.00am with burial afterwards in Dromelihy Graveyard. Family flowers only please. Donations may be made, in lieu, to the Poor Clare Sisters, Ennis.

LEONARD - Shay (formerly of Kinvara Park, Navan Road, Dublin, latterly of London and of Dunstable, Bedfordshire) June 28, 2023, in Dunstable. Amazing father of Liam, gorgeous husband of Ekin Greatly missed by his family, father Jim Leonard, sisters Louise and Suzanne, brother-in-law Matt, sister-in-law Basak, and nieces Jade, Anka and Umay. Shay's funeral service will take place at the Bierton Crematorium, Aylesbury, on Tuesday, July 25, at 3.00pm, followed by a wake at the White Swan Inn in Dunstable. Informal drinks in memory of Shay will take place on Saturday, July 29, from 3pm at Cumiskeys Pub, Blackhorse Avenue, Dublin 7. Our special thanks to everyone who supported Shay and his family in the last six months during his illness. To those who helped in any way, your contribution made our loss more bearable. 

FENLON - Kathleen (née Mitchell) (Bronte, NSW and formerly of Comeragh Road) June 13, 2023 peacefully. Beloved wife of Aidan and loving mother of Claire and John, adored grandmother to Edie and Alice. Very sadly missed by her sisters, brother, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews relatives and friends. Funeral and burial has taken place in Waverley Cemetery, NSW.

MOTHERWAY - Pádraig Augustine (born Dublin, April 9, 1942), known as Pat, passed peacefully on June 23, 2023. Pat was a lover of photography, travel and Volkswagen camper vans. He worked for the Dublin County Council mobile libraries for over thirty years, retiring to Ardee, Co Louth. Survived by his children; Nina, Gillen and Tess, 6 grandchildren and his ex-wife Ailish - he wished to donate his body to science and lies at the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin. A memorial will be held in due course to celebrate his life.

HEENEY - Eileen (née Moylan) July 14, 2022 (Foxrock), on this the first anniversary of her death, her children Carol, Andrew, John and Joanne would like to thank all our relatives, friends and neighbours for their sympathy and support. Thank you to all the staff in Belmont nursing home who looked after Eileen so well in the final years of her life. Thank you also to Fr Gerry Kane, Foxrock parish and all at Quinn’s funeral home. Also remembering our late father Michael Heeney, whose sixth anniversary occurs this month.

TOBIN, Sean, (Upper Newcastle, Galway, formerly of NUI Galway and originally Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Tipperary) July 11, 2023. Beloved husband of the late Lois. Peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff of St Jarlath’s Ward, Bon Secours Hospital, Galway. Sadly missed by his loving children Siobhan, Brendan, Adrian, Ciaran and Michael, son-in-law Simon, daughters-in-law Kate and Tara, grandchildren Niamh, Rhys, Dylan, Luna, Liam, Joseph, Cara, Daniel, Sean, Oran and Fionn, and by his brothers Liam and Desmond, close family members Ann, Ross, Shane, Eva and Sam Tobin, extended family, former colleagues and friends. Sean was professor of mathematics in NUI Galway for over 35 years. Reposing at the O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue, Galway this Friday, 14 July from 5.00pm. to 7.00pm. Private Cremation to take place on Saturday. Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Sean at Galway Cathedral on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 12.00 noon. Family flowers only please.
