TORPEY Brian Desmond (Killiney, Co. Dublin) (former Chief Engineer Dublin Port Company) - January 15, 2014, (peacefully), in St. Vincent's Private Hospital, eldest son of the late Phyllis and James, beloved husband and friend of Deirdre (née Merriman), inspirational and loving father of Stephen and Naomi, doting granddad of Emily and father-in-law of John Egan; he will be forever loved and missed by his sister Ruth (Murphy), brothers Declan and David, the late Niall and Dermot, brother-in-law Paul, sisters-in-law Tina, Renee (South Africa) and Rosaleen, the vast Merriman in-laws, nieces and nephews and a huge circle of friends. Reposing tomorrow (Friday) at his home from 6pm-8pm. Removal on Saturday to St. Joseph's Church, Glasthule arriving for 11.30am Funeral Mass followed by cremation in Mount Jerome Crematorium. Donations if desired to the Blackrock Hospice.

GALLAGHER, (née O’Connor) Miriam (Mim) (Playwright and Speech Therapist, Ranelagh, Dublin 6 and late of Waterford), peacefully and with dignity on the January 15, 2018, at Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross, beloved wife of Gerhardt (G.), loving mum to Mia, Donnacha and Etain, sister of the late Frank O’Connor and sister-in-law of the late Damien Hand. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, children, son-in-law Seán, sisters Valerie and Fidelma, brother Michael, sisters-in-law Anne, Pat and Angelika, brothers-in-law Mark and Len, her goddaughter Karen and her family, her cousins and their families, her other beloved nieces and nephews and their children, relatives and a large circle of friends and colleagues. Removal today (Thursday) morning from the hospice to Church of the Holy Name, Beechwood Avenue, Ranelagh, arriving at 9.50am for 10am Mass. Funeral immediately afterwards to Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harold’s Cross. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross. There will be a memorial at the Columbarium Wall, Mount Venus Cemetery, Rathfarnham. (Details to be announced at a later date). May she rest in peace
