ROONEY, Dr. Ann (née O’Neill) (Belfast and formerly Chesterfield, Derbyshire) - Died peacefully in Belfast on April 7th 2024. Much beloved wife of John and mother of Margaret, Aoife, Niamh and Mary Jo. She will always be missed. Deeply regretted by her brother Paddy and her sisters-in-law Peig, Diana and Patricia. Also Drew, Damian, Bill and Guillaume, her grandchildren Caroline, Lucy, Anna, Sophie, May, Beth, Matthew, Willow, Amandine, Jérôme and Owen, and the wider Rooney and O'Neill families. Reposing at home on (Thursday) 11th April from 2.00pm to 8.00pm. Requiem Mass on (Friday) 12th April at 11.00am in St. Therese of Lisieux Church, Somerton Road, Belfast, followed by burial in Milltown Cemetery. Trust in Him.

CAREY, (nee Travers) (Naas) - April 8, 2024, (peacefully), with family, Maureen, beloved wife of the late Paddy who passed away on the same day 21 years ago and dear mother of Deirdre, Pat, Anne and Barry. Pre-deceased by her brother Brendan and sisters Betty and Phyllis. Sadly missed by her loving sons, daughters, brother Kevin, grandchildren Carey, Andrew, Richie, Aoife, Rory, Talitha, Genevieve, Tiernán and Oisín, great-grandchildren Nola, Holly and Jack, son-in-law Peter, daughter-in-law Priscilla, sisters-in-law May and Kathleen, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. SWEENEY, Marie (née O’Reilly) (Newton Park House, Marlton Road, Wicklow Town and formerly Kilmackthomas, Co. Waterford) - 9th April 2024. Passed away peacefully, having been afforded excellent care, at St Vincent’s Hospital Elm Park. Beloved mother of the late Margaret, eldest daughter of the late Patrick and Maura, sister of the late Pearl, loving wife of Brian, mother of Niall, Brian and Conor, sister of Donal, Breda, Sean, Sheila and Jim, grandmother of Molly, Kate, Ruth, Pearl, Justin, Conor Jose, Daragh and Hugo, great-grandmother of Conn, Senan and Marnie. Sadly missed by her loving family, relatives and friends. Rest in Peace. KAVANAGH, (née Clancy) (Main Street, Arklow, Co. Wicklow and formerly of Ballycashin, Kilnaboy, Co. Clare) - 7th April 2024, peacefully in her 90th year, in the loving care of her family and the staff at the Beacon Hospital, Dublin. Beloved wife of Nicholas and loving mother of Bernard, Bríd, Eoin and Anne-Marie. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, sons, daughters, brother Donal, sisters Della, Kitty, Una and Finola, sons-in-law Bernard and Oran, daughters-in-law Patricia and Anne, her 11 grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, friends and neighbours. DALY, Jerry (Jeremiah), (Rathfarnham and formerly Cork City, Lombard & Ulster Banking) - April 6th, 2024 (two days before his 94th birthday) in the care of St. James’s Hospital. Beloved husband of the late Aimee (née Howe) and loving father of Geraldine McSweeney and Sarah Halpin. Predeceased by his brother Dan and little grandson Donagh. Sadly missed by his loving daughters, sons-in-law Gareth and Dave, adored grandchildren Jack, Aimee, Gina, Susie and Julie, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, his team of “earth” angels Jean, Anne, Marinel and Ivy, extended family, good neighbours and many friends. May he Rest in Peace. Removal this morning (10th April) to the Church of The Annunciation, Rathfarnham, arriving for Funeral Mass at 10am, followed by cremation in the Garden Chapel, Mount Jerome.
