FLANAGAN - It is with a heavy heart John Flanagan Developments Ltd. Tullamore announce the passing of its founder John Flanagan Snr. John Flanagan may have passed away, but his indelible mark on Tullamore will endure for generations to come. John was a visionary, a pioneer, whose dreams became the bricks and mortar that shaped his beloved town.

John was more than just a developer; he was a steward of progress, a custodian of community, and a believer in the transformative power of good architecture. His journey began with a simple vision – to build spaces where people could not only live but thrive, where families could grow, businesses could flourish, and the spirit of Tullamore could soar.

Throughout his illustrious career, John wasn't merely constructing buildings; he was sculpting landmarks, each structure a testament to his unwavering commitment to quality and innovation. From quaint residential developments to cutting-edge commercial hubs, John's developments dotted the landscape, seamlessly blending modernity with the town's rich heritage.

One cannot speak of John Flanagan without mentioning his crowning achievement – the Tullamore Court Hotel. With a stroke of brilliance and a dash of audacity, he transformed the accommodation offering in the Midlands, a tribute to John’s vision and the resilience of the town he loved.

But John’s legacy extends far beyond the buildings he erected. He was a pillar of the community, a philanthropist whose generosity touched countless lives. From sponsoring local events and organisations to funding educational initiatives, he believed in giving back to the town that had given him so much.

As news of John's passing reverberates through Tullamore, the town mourns the loss of a true luminary. Yet, amidst the sorrow, there is gratitude – gratitude for the man who dared to dream, who dared to build, and who dared to make Tullamore a better place for all who call it home. John Flanagan's spirit lives on, a guiding light for future generations to follow. And as Tullamore continues to evolve and grow, his name will forever be etched in its history, a testament to the power of one man's vision to transform a town and leave an indelible mark on its soul.

You are with us every day in our thoughts, memories and conversations.   So loved and missed by your wife Deirdre, your children Charlotte, Garrett, Stephanie and Scott and all your grandchildren.

KEANE - Dr. Francis Xavier (Phibsborough, Dublin), (May 13, 2023) - On the first anniversary of Frank’s death his children Miriam, Conrad and extended family wish to acknowledge and thank all those who sympathised and provided kind support in the weeks and months after his passing. Particularly Rev. Fr. Tom O’Shaughnessy and Rev. Fr. Stephen Foster O.S. CAM who officiated at Frank’s Requiem Mass at Christ The King, Cabra, those who arranged beautiful music and to Massey Bros. for the funeral arrangements. We sincerely thank the staff of the Mater Private, all those provided care and those who were good friends to our Dad before he died. Miss Margaret Sleator and the hospital Chaplaincy team were a blessing to us all.

We extend our gratitude and appreciation to all those who knew Dad over the years, particularly his former colleagues of NRH where he retired as Consultant in Orthopaedics in 2001, advancing medicine through Kinetic Therapy and his innovative RotoRest bed. The generous donations to MQI for his autobiography were graciously received. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions as a gesture of thanks. Dad was laid to rest at St. Mochonogue’s Cemetery,        Kilmacanogue.  A place close to his heart by the Sugar Loaf. Please pray for the deceased, friends and family.
