HODKINSON, Barry (Glenageary, Co. Dublin) 30 June 2026. It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful death of Barry Hodkinson in the excellent care of the staff at Glengara Park Nursing Home, Glenageary, following a long illness. Beloved husband of the late Kitty Hodkinson. Deeply missed by his sons Eoin, Mark, Blake and Hugh, his brother Eoin, daughters-in-law Anne, Elaine, Colette and Sophie and his grandchildren, Hugh, Luke, Emmet, Óisin, Cliona, Ruth, Sebastian, Violet, Bennett and Ryan, his relatives, neighbours and friends. Barry will be reposing on Friday 3rd July from 4 pm to 6 pm in Quinn’s Funeral Home, Glasthule A96EW88. Funeral Mass on Saturday 4th July at 10 am in St. Joseph’s Church, Glasthule, followed by burial in Shanganagh Cemetery.

GIBSON, Sylvia (née Sargent) (Dun Laoghaire Co. Dublin, formerly Oldcastle, Co Meath) – June 30, 2026, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family and in the tender care of Fern Dean Nursing Home. Beloved wife of the late Thomas, loved and loving mother of Ian, Lynda and Kathryn, mother-in-law of Gethyn and James, sister of the late Eileen, sister-in-law of Muriel and her husband John and much-adored grandmother of Samantha, Sarah, Karyn and Aly. Sadly missed and remembered fondly by her nieces, nephews, wider family and friends. Funeral Service on Saturday 4th July at 11 am in St Matthias’ Church, Ballybrack, followed by burial in Loughcrew Churchyard, A82 N225, Oldcastle, Co. Meath, at approx. 1.45 pm. Predeceased by her parents, James and Brigid, brothers Tim, Jim and Liam and sister Eleanor. Deeply regretted by her Community in Lakelands, the Sisters of the Congregation, sisters Margaret and Therese, brothers, Seán and Eugene, sisters-in-law Anne and Adrienne, brother-in-law, John, nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, the Sisters, staff and residents of Nazareth House Nursing Home, relatives and friends. Rest in Peace. Reposing on Thursday, 2nd July, from 2 pm to 4 pm in Corrigan and Sons Funeral Home, 5 Lower Camden Street, D02DF22. Prayers at 3.30 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, 3rd July, at 11:30 am in St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Parish Church, Sandymount, followed by burial in the community cemetery, Donnybrook.

HOWLETT, John, 27th of June 2026, Rathgar and Galway. Passed away suddenly at home. Wonderful and adoring husband to Dorothy, son of Ros and Des, brother to Sarah and James, son-in-law to Angela and Brian, brother-in-law to Billy, Jane and Lucy. John will be sadly missed by his extended family, friends, and neighbours. Reposing in Massey Bros. Funeral Home, Goatstown (D14X348) today (Thursday) 2nd from 5 pm – 7 pm. Funeral service tomorrow (Friday) 3rd at 4 pm in The Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome.
