STILLMAN, (née Carter) Helen (Monkstown, Co. Dublin and formerly of Thomastown Road, Dun Laoghaire and Ben Rhydding, Ilkley) April 2, 2020, suddenly but peacefully in the care of the staff at St. Vincent’s University Hospital. Beloved wife of Prof. Chris and devoted mother of Clare and Gavin. She will be sadly missed by her husband, children, son-in-law Tom, daughter-in-law Ann, grandchildren Aoife, Thomas and Caroline, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, colleagues and friends. A private funeral service will take place due to the current situation. Those who would have liked to attend the funeral, but due to current restrictions cannot, please leave a personal message in the “Condolences section” on IrishTimes.com. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Helen was a great friend of mine in our younger days. I sat beside her and distracted her with my chatter in the Culwick Choral Society. Helen was the capable and progressive President of the French Teachers' Association in my early years.
