REBEL TO THE CAUSE

Memories of a "UNIQUE" Brother in law.

I first met Michael when he was working in Navan hospital way back in 1974.We quite often frequented the Round 0 public house and Michael being Michael we had many long and controversial debates about numerous subjects.

Michael had a passion for Morgan cars and as a lay person his knowledge of the subject was quite astounding and he always managed to surprise me.

The saying goes that most people have "hidden" talents and that was certainly the case with Michael. I shall never forget his rendition of House of the Rising Sun which, he played on the church organ in Carrigaholt. Irreverent, some might say but, this was Michael after all.

I was honoured to be Michaels pilot when in the new millenium we flew the length and breath of Ireland in the shape of a heart. This was part of the "Fixing The HEART" project that Michael was involved in.

Back in the 70's Michael was very sceptible regarding hypnosis ( a subject I had more that a keen interest in) and so with perseverance, lengthy discussions and demonstrations Michael came round and saw the benefits of the use of hynosis, becoming somewhat of an expert himself.

Mike

A WALKING SAINT

He once told me that he lived in a completely peaceful state of mind and that he didn't care what people thought of him or what they called him, and I believed him. You don't have to convince somebody of the truth when it's just a fact. I aspire to be like him.He was a hero to me as much as John Lennon or Johnny Cash. I am so grateful that I had the pleasure of meeting him and truly saddened that he's gone. We need more people like Dr Michael Corry, not just in Ireland but in the world.

Rest in Peace,

Love Niamh.x

A truly exceptional Doctor and most compassionate human being

I was greatly shocked and saddened to learn of Michael's passing. I had not known of his illness until the end of last week. I had occasion to spend several hours in his Consulting Rooms over the past year or two and found him to be a most exceptional and warm, caring, compassionate, insightful human being. His listening skills were outstanding and his advice very solid. He will be a huge loss to the medical profession and to his many grateful patients. I wish to extend my sincere sympathy to all his family and wide circle of friends. He will be sadly missed by us all. May he rest in Peace.

Dorothy Allen
