He Fought the Good Fight

Michael, you stood tall in the storm of conservative medical opinion and practice. You did not flinch, you did not hide, you did not fear. You fought the good fight.

May God now give strength to all you helped and knew, to carry forward the good fight also.

RIP.

John Naughton 07/04/10.

A terrible loss

Saddened by the news of Michael's death. He did so much for people like me badly effected by psychiatry. He battled very bravely and was prepared to be a maverick among his peers in order to bring new light and heart to this area.

Colette Ni Dhuinneacha

A Truly Wonderful Human Being.

Michael, Learned only on Wednesday of your passing. Shock is running its course. The sense of sadness and loss will remain with us for quite some time. It is accompanied by a deep sense of gratitude for the great fortune we had to meet you in the first instance, and then go on to know you as we did. Our lives have been immeasurably enriched through that experience. We remember fondly your priceless sense of humour, wnich would lighten anyone's day. Your enthusiasm for learning and your wide knowledge of so many diverse subjects was truly remarkable. We gained most of all from your personal insights and wisdom which you shared so generously, convinced that such gifts are never meant to be held onto possessively. We in turn we continue to pass on whatever we can, whenever we feel it may help; and it is always life-awakening. Our thoughts and prayers are with you; and with all your loved ones on the loss of such a gentle, strong, generous, compassipnate man ----- a truly wonderful human being. With deep gratitude we ask that your gentle soul may rest in peace and joy. Kevin and Anne O'Flaherty.
