The void

We may come to know many people in our lives, but few have a lasting effect and deep void in their absence. Jim accomplishes both. I met him in 1988 as a your PR person at Neiman Marcus. Our friendship lasted decades and his passing leaves a gaping hole in my heart, which pales in comparison to his family, whom he loved fiercely. I'm blessed to have known Jim and feel this emptiness. Many walk this world and never have the gift of having a Jim O'Leary in their lives. I am blessed. And though my tears, I see clearly his eyes and smile. He is with us. May he be enjoying heaven and brining the same Irish gift to God and the angles as he did to us.

Favorite Memory in Southern Cal.

O'Leary Family-

I have been doing events with Jim the past 7 years and you could always count on Jim knowing somebody where ever you went. Many of the Southern California events were successful because of Jims personality, love for people and his passion for Waterford. One of my favorite memories of Jim was in Sherman Oaks Macy's we had a table set up with pieces to talk about. One in particular was a Waterford Lismore Pitcher filled with Peanuts still in the shell. The look on his face was priceless when he had to come up with something to talk about regarding this pitcher full of peanuts. He turned and point blank said "I dont know what kind of Elephants you have in Southern Cal that will only eat peanuts out of a Waterford Pitcher Essman". The crowd couldn't stop laughing as I turned 3 shades of purple. You gotta love the guy.... God Bless you Jim you will be missed.

An amazing man!
I had the honor and pleasure of meeting Jim and Monica through John and Curtis when I worked at the Waterford Wedgwood Store in Carlsbad, Ca. Up until then I only knew Jim through the beautiful pieces he created and I sold at the store. After meeting him I realized he was not only the finest creator and world wide spokesman of Waterford but a dedicated family man and a friend to anyone he met. My sympathies go out to Monica and all of his family. I feel honored that I had the pleasure of meeting the man behind the amazing work.
