Dearest Monica and family

Just now while watching the House of Waterford on ShopHQ, I learned of the passing of your/our precious Jim. You may not remember Mutt and me but we met Jim, and later you, at Neiman-Marcus in Dallas. We were friends of Ramona and MonaKay and attended many events when Jim was in town. We first met you at a show home that Southern Living magazine and Waterford held. At that time, we had recently returned from our trip to our beloved Ireland, where Jim arranged for us a private tour of the factory. He, unfortunately, had forgotten on which day we would be there so he arranged for someone else to give us the tour but he had time for us to have a nice visit. We have so many pieces that he signed for us and also many wonderful photos of him ... and me with him! Now you and Mutt mustn't get jealous! You were the only lady for him! Anyway, we thank you for having shared him with us all. I wonder if I would have my collection had it been someone else who made store appearances. Our heartfelt sympathy is with you all. May God give you comfort as only He can do. Love ya'll.

my deepest sympathy

Dear Monica and family.

I knew Jimmy for a long time, since 1987 when I went to visit my cousins in Waterford for 2 months, and Jimmy and you were friends with my cousin Roger and wife. After I left we use to exchange Christmas greetings, and I use to see Jimmy whenever he was in Sydney to promote Waterford Crystals. As he did not come here for a couple of years, when I rang Roger who now lives in Chile, he told me the bad news, I was really shocked, because I never imagine that could happen, Jimmy was a man full of life and a gentleman, excellent family man,and even last time I saw him in Sydney I mentioned to him how young he looked.

Monica I'm very very sorry for your loss and he'll never be forgotten, a great man.

Sincerely

Bill Droguett

bildroguett@hotmail.com

The Gift of Imagination

As I read about spiritual energy tonight I then went to Mr. O'Leary and read about his last design. I am a Christian. One thing led to another and I found a prophetic message in his design. I looked up magi , biblical and read of gifts of frankincense, gold and myrrh. Also reading of spiritual energies I read that gold is a high energy area, than I read that the Magi were not in fact 3 but 12 Wisemen and Psalms 72:11, " May all Kings fall down before him. "

My God , My Jesus , My Holy Ghost is Real ! Thank you Mr. O'Leary for the Gift of Imagination. The Lord, the I AM. oh my goodness. Rita

The Gatto Family

Our hearts broke at the news of Jims' passing and our most heart felt sympathy goes out to his wife, son & daughter.

As we enter into this holiday season my heart is heavy with the thought of not seeing Jim as we have for the last 10 years. We always made sure to see him when he was here in San Francisco. In November of 2012 while visiting with Jim my husband asked if he would sign something, of course Jim said. My husband pulled out a baseball, Jim looked a bit perplexed but signed it. It remains my husbands most treasured collectable.

My holiday wish this year is for the O'Leary family, may your hearts be filled with as much joy that Jim brought to our family and everyone over the years. He will be truely missed.

Sincerely,

The Gatto Family

Rest in Peace kind Sir
I learned about Jim's passing today when I was purchasing my 2013 Waterford ornament at Macy's Monterey. I asked if there was going to be a Waterford event in the area, and I was told that Jim had passed away. I am saddened by the loss of this wonderful gentleman. I considered him a dear friend . I met him in the late 1980s when I worked at Macys Monterey and helped with the events. He loved visiting Monterey. It was at this time that my love for Waterford crystal begin and I learned much from Jim . He had a passion for the beautiful pieces he designed, but he also had a down to earth passion for people. After I left Macys and attended events , he would always pick me out in the crowd to say hello. He had a way of remembering things about individuals and connecting . My husband and I had our picture taken with him in 2009 and in 2010 my husband passed away . I shared that with Jim the next time I saw him and he was very kind. He told me about his diagnosis and I kept him in prayer. Last year when I saw him he looked so well. I told him that I would like to work with him after I retire from my current job . And I was surprised to hear him tell his assistant to take my name. He said that I was very knowledgable with Waterford crystal. I was flattered that he would say that. I learned a lot from him as my love for the beautiful crystal grew. I will miss this very talented and kind man. Condolences to his family. He spoke of all with love and in this last few years he seemed to love being a grandfather . He said he loved coming to San Francisco to see his grandchildren. Rest in Peace....
