Mark

Mark , A rare genius

We would just like to quote from Shakespeare's Julius Caesar:

'His life was gentle, and the elements so mix'd in him that nature might stand up and say to all the world, "This was a man!"'

Forever remembered with a warm glow and a smile.

Ann & Mike Hickey

Death of my first hero

I was shocked to hear about Mark's death. He was such an amazing guy and had such an influence on me in my early years, letting me watch and help as he tinkered with motorbikes, tried out electric shock therapy devices(!), flew huge kites on Killiney Hill and created insane bikes for us kids on the road. I looked up to Mark so much and he still inspires me in his love of life, his quirky sense of humour and his constant questioning and wondering mind. He had enough ideas in his head for 50 geniuses. It wasn't too long ago that he showed me a video of his home-made Tesla coil in the back garden (made with a football and tinfoil) which generated insane arcs of electricity. I always wanted (and still want) a shed like Mark's; smelling of engine oil, with a ghettoblaster, tools and full of bits of equipment. He was a gentle, kind, generous, amazing man and he will be sorely missed. I offer my deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Ronan Hickey
