From London, Ontario

As I have said privately, I am devastated at the loss of my "twin" (we shared our birth date, and our birthdays, work, choirs, coffee, garden and so much more over 20 years).

Our loss, Simon (Martin and your families) pales in comparison to your own. May our grief help lift some of your pain at this traumatic time.

Both Debbie and you were remembered by name in our intercessions here at St Paul's Cathedral on Sunday morning.

With much love from too far away,

Andrew

Thank you Greenjewel

for all the fun, kindness and good advice which you brought to all your friends in Mustardland. We shall miss you enormously and there will be so many times when we think "oh - greenjewel would have known this" or "how greenjewel would have laughed to read that".

I am sure that your family and friends will have lots of happy memories to comfort them in the times to come - you have left a wonderful legacy with all your work and your gardens. Too short a life certainly, but a very full one which touched so many people and animals in the very best of ways.

Go well Greenjewel,

Love

Savvie

From an online friend

In pages and pages of shocked comment in the online forum I know Debbie through, nobody can believe it has happened. Debbie was so kind, gentle, wise and fun. She could seriously advise on cat-health and giggle about amazing new shoes, a wonderful caring and cared-for woman.

We all will miss her immeasureably and we never even met her. None of us can start to imagine the loss to her family and 'real life' friends and our thoughts are with you.

Her nickname was "greenjewel" and I think there will be a lot of donations to 'her' charities with a reference to greenjewel...

Laura in Lothian

To greenjewel of Mustardland

I never met you in real life, but feel I knew you. You always seemed so full of life and such a wonderfully kind person. The world is a sadder place now.
