KERRIGAN - - Gerda (née McNally) (Twickenham, UK) - On  December 7, 2023. Deeply mourned and missed by her son, Jonathan, her grandsons, Christian, Ruairi and Aedan, her nephew Diarmad and niece Shevaun and all her extended family and many friends. The funeral will take place at 11.15am on Thursday 28 December in St Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church, St Margaret's, Twickenham.

BEERS - Philomena (Phil) (née McCabe) (Vancouver Island, Canada and Cork, Ireland) -

December 14,  2023,

Peacefully, in her 97th year, in the gentle care of the staff of The Gardens, Qualicum Beach, Vancouver Island.

Adored wife and cherished partner, of the late Burton Beers.

Predeceased by her parents Frances and Patrick McCabe, siblings Fr Paddy, Eileen, Stannie, Ray, baby Stephanie and Dorrie (Faherty).

Deeply regretted by her Brother in law Wayne Beers and wife Lera (New Brunswick), Brother in law Padraig, Sisters in law Joan and Sandy and dear friend Sheila Keogh.

Most cherished and loving Aunt to her nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews.

Sadly missed by her dear friend and companion Kath Eyre and the staff of the complex care department at The Gardens at Qualicum Beach.

Cremation has taken place at Qualicum Beach, a Mass of Thanksgiving and celebration for the life of Phil will take place in Ireland at a later date.

May Her Gentle Soul Rest in Peace.

CLARKE - Maurice, Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin; died June 20, 2023.

Maurice’s wife Rita, daughters Suzanne and Anne-Marie together with their families would like to express heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised with them following their sad loss of a much loved husband and cherished father and grandfather. Your kindness and support will never be forgotten. Please accept this acknowledgment as an expression of our sincere gratitude.

KILRAINE - Tom, Malahide and formerly of London and Cloonfad. As we approach the first Anniversary of Tom’s passing, his family would like to thank everyone for all the sympathy and support we received. To all those that came to the mass, the funeral home, who sent cards and letters, and the many lovely messages left on RIP.ie and social media Ballymun Facebook page from ex colleagues and pupils, and his many friends we would like to extend our thanks. Tom’s grandchildren particularly benefited from all the messages and letters. They were a testament to the impact Tom had on countless lives. Your compassion has been a source of strength to us and we are deeply grateful for all the memories you shared with us. Please accept this acknowledgment as an expression of our deepest gratitude.

“Ardeevin Lodge”, Ballincar, Sligo (formerly Upperchurch, Co.Tipperary)

Tony, Órla, Bróna, Antoinette, Davnat and Rachel wish to sincerely thank all who supported us following Mum’s sudden passing especially Pat and Brian McDonagh, Ronnie Downs and Fr. John Carroll who were there for Dad as we made our way home to Ardeevin. To Mum’s siblings Tom, Conor and Clare and their families, to our own extended families, our kind neighbours, Dad’s former colleagues at Sligo General Hospital and to Mum & Dad’s many friends for their support, gentle words and the many acts of kindness and care then and since.

We remember and thank Sligo Ambulance Service, and the staff at Yeat’s Leisure Centre.

Thank to you Fr. Hugh McGonigle for his guidance and officiation at Mass of the Resurrection in our parish church St Joseph’s Sligo together with Fr. Carroll.

We thank Sinéad Conway and Kieran Quinn for the beautiful music and Fr. Noel Rooney for his pastoral care & kindness in the year since.

We sincerely thank Seamus Feehily & Son for his empathy and professionalism in arranging Mum’s repose at home and preparing her final resting place at Cregg House with Patrick.

As a family we truly appreciate and cherish the presence and support of all who travelled long distances to be with us as Mum was laid to rest. For all who phoned, sent Mass Cards, letters, and prayers know that each one brought comfort.

Mass will be offered for your intentions as a token of our gratitude.

BOYLE - Fr James Anthony MHM (Drimlatafin, Inver, Co. Donegal) December 18, 2023 R.I.P. On his first anniversary, family and friends especially brother Patrick, sister Ita and brother-in-law Tom mourn the sad loss of their dear Fr James. Fr James was an inspiration to all who knew him. On his ordination, in keeping with all his conferees in the Mill Hill Missionaries, he pledged to go out to the whole world and proclaim the Good News. Fr James did just that in many parts of the world – Freshford, Kilkenny where he taught, Cameroon, England, USA, Belfast and at home. In all that time he never lost his lovely, soft Donegal accent. His devotion to and preaching of the Blessed Trinity was profound. He reminded us so often of God, our Father, who created us, of Jesus, his Son, who redeemed us and the Holy Spirit who is with us every day to guide and protect us. He is greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him and loving him. A special thanks to our friend and his Fr Maurice McGill MHM.
