SCANLAN, Alice (née O'Donnell) Gurrane South, Oranmore, and formerly of New Docks, Galway City. Alice passed away peacefully on Saturday, 14th December 2024. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Bill. Cherished mother of Olan, Brona, and Cliona. Deeply missed by her loving family, including her six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, her brother Jack, sister Patricia, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, extended family, neighbours, and a wide circle of friends. In accordance with Alice’s wishes, a private family cremation will take place at Shannon Crematorium. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at a future date. (Sandymount, Dublin and late of Clontarf), December 15, 2024, peacefully in the tender care of the staff at St. Vincent’s Private Hospital, surrounded by his beloved wife and three children. He will be deeply missed by his wife Patrice, children Rosanne, Alex and Elaine, grandsons Conor, Rory, Euan and Oliver, sister Clodagh, daughter-in-law Sharon, son-in-law Eddie, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and a circle of very dear, close, supportive friends. Predeceased by his siblings Arthur, Deirdre, Ken and Sheila. Rest in Peace Reposing at home (private). GAFFNEY - We are saddened to inform you that our beloved father, Patrick Francis Gaffney, born in Longford, lived in Fremantle, Western Australia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 in Fremantle. He was a loving husband, an affectionate and caring father, and a cheeky grandfather to Dara, Greta, and Ingrid. Our dad packed a lot into his eighty-two years. He could work a room like the best, leaving every occasion knowing the names and interesting details about all the people he met. Although he never witnessed a Fremantle Dockers grand final win, he embraced each new year with hope and loved watching others strive for their best. Now, it is time to say, "Let's go," as he is reunited in heaven with his beloved Phyllis, our mum.

PHELAN, Ray (Mount Merrion Avenue, Blackrock, Co. Dublin and formerly Mount Alton, Knocklyon) December 13, 2024. Peacefully, in the kind care of St. Vincent’s University Hospital. Beloved husband of the late Constance Helen and loving dad of Ken, Karen and Martin. He will sadly be missed by his sons, daughter, daughters-in-law Jacqueline and Caroline, his cherished grandchildren David, Grainne, Lachlan, Gavin, Lorcan, Alexandra, Garrett, Callan and Abigail, nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends. Funeral Mass on Saturday (December 21) at 11am in Church of the Assumption, Booterstown Avenue followed by burial in Kilmashogue Cemetery.
