BRENNAN, (née Deignan), Noeleen (late of Kells and Oldcastle, Meath and former Principal, St. Kevin’s National School, Sallynoggin) on August 20th, 2025, suddenly, amongst friends. Much loved wife of Frank (Francis) and dearest mother of Deirbhile, Niall (Traic) and Conor. Predeceased by her sister, Eithne and brother, Gerry. Cherished sister of June, Andra and Robert (Bob). Adored grandmother of Eoghan, Caoimhe, Cara, Ailbhe, Connie, Neansaí and Séimí. A wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She will be forever loved and missed by Frank, her children, grandchildren, siblings, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours. Reposing at Quinn’s Funeral Home, Glasthule, tomorrow, Wednesday from 4pm to 6pm. Removal on Thursday morning (28th August) to the Church of the Assumption, Dalkey, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11.30am which can be viewed on www.churchservices.tv/dalkey, followed by burial at Kilternan Cemetery Park. BATTELLE, James (Jim), Rathfarnham Dublin 14 – August 23, 2025 (peacefully in his 91st year) at Tallaght University Hospital surrounded by his family after a short illness bravely borne. Beloved husband of Pauline and much-loved father of Brian, Paul, Mark and Emer. Predeceased by his siblings Canon Paddy and Laurie. He will be very sadly missed by his family, sister Eileen, daughters-in law Christine, Sanna and Ide, son-in-law David, his treasured grandchildren Seamus, Grainne, Charles, Harry, Darragh, Emilie, Hugh, Tim, Louis, Elissia, Eve and Aisling, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. FLETT, Alan John (Delgany, Co. Wicklow and formerly of Mount Merrion, Co. Dublin) – August 23, 2025, predeceased by his beloved wife Phyl. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his children Sarah, Jamie and Andrew, grandchildren Robyn, Benjamin, Tom and Zeby, extended family and friends. A Funeral Service and Celebration of Life will take place tomorrow (Wednesday) in St. Patrick’s Church, Powerscourt, Enniskerry at 11.00am.

TIERNAN - Breda (Bridget) (née Gilmartin) (Sarratt, Herts, England and formerly Bundoran, Co. Donegal) – died peacefully at home on August 20, 2025, surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of the late Michael (Ballyshannon) and much loved mother of Michele, John, Katrine and Miriam. Sadly missed by her seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, her sister Phyl, in-laws, nephews, nieces, friends and relatives. Funeral takes place in England on Friday, September 5.

HILL - Margaret. (Ashford, Co. Wicklow). On the occasion of Margaret’s first anniversary, (August 26), Dorothy, Mervyn, Frankie, Amanda, Trevor and their families remember her with love and affection. We would like to thank all who sympathised with us on her death. The number who attended the funeral home, the funeral and sent beautiful messages of condolences left us in no doubt how many people’s lives Margaret had touched. Your memories of, and affection for, Margaret both moved us and brought comfort. We wish to extend a special thank you to Professor Janice Walsh and her team in St. Vincent’s Private who looked after Margaret with such kindness and understanding over the many years of her illness. We are grateful too to all in Wicklow Hospice who made Margaret’s last days peaceful and welcomed Mo and Mindy, two of her cats, every day to be with her. Thank you to Rev Jack Kinkead for his compassion and care to us over the difficult days and for conducting a beautiful funeral service. Tony Brennan, the funeral director, deserves our thanks for his discreet handling of the funeral arrangements. Nothing was too much trouble for him. We especially wish to thank all of you who showed Margaret such friendship and kindness through your practical help in the difficult times of her illness. It is not possible to thank all of you individually and we hope you will accept this acknowledgement as a heartfelt expression of our gratitude.
