WILLIAM FINBARR, (BILL),(former O.C. of the 4th Infantry Battalion, Collins Barracks, Cork and former Captain and President of Sunday’s Well Rugby Club), beloved husband of the late Rose Mary (née O’Connell), adored father of Steve, Bruce and Laura, dear brother of Bernadette, Tony and the late Elinor and Mary, cherished grandfather of Sarah, Connor, Finnuala, Rosemary and Iris and precious great-grandfather of Rian and Andie.

Deeply mourned by his adoring family, daughters-in-law Evelyn and Kate, grandson-in-law Andrew, nephews, nieces in Canada, Dublin and Cork.

Especially missed by all his friends in Rockwell College, 33rd Cadet School Classmates, his former Army Colleagues, his team mates at Skibbereen R.F.C., Sunday’s Well R.F.C., and Munster Rugby, his golfing friends at Cork G.C., Skibbereen G.C., and Macroom G.C., his former United Nations Colleagues, his friends in Mallow, Skibbereen and Cork and his wonderful neighbours in Bishopscourt.

Reposing at the Wilton Funeral Home, Sarsfield Road of Jerh. O’Connor Ltd. on Monday (November 10th) from 5.00pm to 6.00pm.

Requiem Mass at 11.00am on Tuesday (November 11th) in St. Joseph’s S.M.A. Church, Wilton.

Funeral afterwards to St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Tory Top Road.

CURTIS - It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of David G Curtis (St. Mary's College, Templeogue, YMCA Hockey Club), formerly of St Agnes Rd, Crumlin, Thomastown Road, Dun Laoghaire, Cherry Hill, Rocky Valley, Kilmacanogue, Co. Wicklow and more recently Fort View Clarecastle, Co. Clare on the 4th of November peacefully at home with his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Alfred and Patricia and his sister Maureen. Very sadly missed by her sons, her granddaughter Lily, her cousins Gloria, Sandra and Vicky, extended family and friends.

MASIN - Prof. Ronald R. late of Templeogue, born 1937 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, passed away peacefully on the 5th of November 2025, surrounded by his loving family and following a short but intense illness.

Beloved husband and soul-mate of 62 years to Maria, much-loved father to Patrick and Gwendolyn, cherished father-in-law to Huwiene and Philipp, and adored grandfather to Thijmen, Pien, Welmoed, Chiem, Ysaÿe, and Seraphin. Founder of the Music Instrument Fund of Ireland, esteemed Professor of the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama, now TU Dublin Conservatoire, mentor to students of the Young European Strings School of Music, EMI recording artist and former concertmaster of the Amsterdam Philharmonic. Ronald was an extraordinary man who gave himself unconditionally to so many, he was deeply respected by colleagues and students alike and will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.

Ronald was a true force of nature in the musical world and showed a quiet, relentless commitment to the development of the next generation of musicians, in many different ways. He was, in every sense, a gentleman and a gentle man, one of these people that you illogically assume will go on for ever, which makes his passing both a source of great sadness and shock. We find ourselves in awe and comfort of the legacy and community of people he has left behind.

Ronald will repose at Zion Church in Rathgar (D06 H1X6) on Monday 10th November, from 5pm to 7pm.

A private service will take place on Tuesday, 11th November, for immediate family only.

A memorial and commemoration concert and celebration will take place at a later date, yet to be announced.

McCORMICK - Ronald (Ronnie), Plattenstown House, Arklow, Co Wicklow. Unexpectedly but peacefully at his home on 6th November 2025. Beloved husband of Margaret. He will be sadly missed by his sorrowing wife, her children Sandra, Paul and Graeme, his sister Ruth, sister-in-law Gladys, his nephews and nieces, extended family and many dear friends. A private cremation service will take place. Ronnie’s Memorial Service will be held at a later date, with details to be confirmed. Messages of sympathy and support can be conveyed online.
