KENNEDY - David, (Goatstown and Glenageary, Dublin) 17th March 2026 (unexpectedly) after a short illness in St. Vincent’s University Hospital, with his heartbroken family by his side. Special son of Nelius and the late Maureen. He will be forever missed and remembered by his father, sisters Kathy, Noelle and Emer, brother Con, his nephew Laurence, nieces Sarah and Louise, brothers-in-law Lar and Henning, extended family, his community of friends, carers and staff in St. John of God Carmona Services and beyond. Reposing in Fanagans Funeral Home, Dundrum tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon from 3pm to 5pm. Removal on Monday morning to the Church of St. Thérèse, Mount Merrion arriving for Funeral Mass at 10am followed by burial in Kilternan Cemetery Park. David’s family would like to take this opportunity to thank Doctor John Holian and his team at St. Vincent’s Hospital and the Beacon Renal Unit for the care they gave to David.

McCAFFREY - Moira (née O’Brien) Cherry Court, Ashleigh Downs, Tralee and formerly of Gurteen House, Rathcabbin, Co Tipperary and Ballincollig, Co Cork. In her 103rd year, Moira beloved mother of Mary, Patricia and Anne passed away peacefully on 17th March. Moira will be sadly missed by her loving family – her daughters, granddaughter Aoife, son-in-law Colm (Burke), nephews, nieces, relatives, the community of St. Joseph’s Nursing Home - Killorglin, neighbours, relatives and friends. Moira is pre-deceased by her husband Patrick, her parents John and Lilian, her brothers George and Seán and sister Ena (Cahill). Reposing at McElligott’s Funeral Home, Tralee on Friday from 5.00PM to 6.30PM. Funeral arriving to St. John’s Parish Church, Tralee on Saturday morning at 9.30AM where the Requiem Mass for Moira will be celebrated at 10.00AM followed by interment afterwards in the Church of St. Mary and St John’s Cemetery, Ballincollig, Co Cork (P31 F677) arriving approximately at 1.15PM. HOWE - William Andrew John (Delgany, Co. Wicklow), retired captain Aer Lingus and former Master Mariner – March 18, 2026, peacefully in the gentle care of Wicklow Hospice, and surrounded by his family. Beloved and loving husband of Jacqueline, dearly loved Dad of Jane and Jenny and cherished Papa to William, Susanna, Clio and Freddy. Sadly missed by sons-in-law Ken and Simon, sister-in-law Miriam and brothers-in-law. Fondly remembered by his relatives and many friends in rugby, racing and shooting. Funeral Mass on Saturday March 21, at 11.00am in St. Patrick’s Church, Kilquade, followed by private burial.

HERLIHY - The death has occurred of William J. (Bill) Herlihy. Retired Chief Superintendent An Garda Siochana, Monkstown, Co. Dublin and formerly of Inchigeelagh, Co. Cork, Artane, Dublin and Carlow Town. Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family in the exceptional care of the staff in Kilbrew Nursing Home, Ashbourne. Reunited with his beloved wife Lorraine. Loving dad of Jackie and Sharon, father-in-law of John, adored grandad of Dillon, Katie, Aisling. Zoe and Daniel. Predeceased by his brothers Johnny, Finbarr, Pat and by his sister Joan. Bill will be sadly missed by his family, Sharon’s partner Ute, sisters-in-law Nora and Maureen, brother-in- law John, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Reposing at his daughter Jackie’s residence, 31 Fairyhouse Lodge, Ratoath, Co. Meath from 5pm until 8pm on today (Thursday). Funeral Mass on tomorrow (Friday) at 10am in St. Patrick’s Church, Monkstown followed by burial in St. Declan’s Cemetery, Ashbourne.

WILLIAMS - Peter – 17th March 2026, (Clontarf and formerly of Drumcondra), (Peacefully), following a brief stay in the Mater Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Dearly beloved husband of the late Marie and much-loved father of Geraldine, Maurice, Sheila, Peter and Conor. He will be very sadly missed by his children, his adoring grandchildren and great granddaughter, his sister Joan, in-laws Meaveen and Fred, nieces, nephews, friends, great neighbours and long-time wonderful carer Eileen. Predeceased by his sister Maureen. Funeral Mass will take place on Friday 20th March at 10am in the Church of St. Anthony, Clontarf followed by Burial in St Fintan’s cemetery Sutton.
