Gerry (Gerard) – Rathfarnham, late of Technological University Dublin, died peacefully on the 18th of April 2026, in the exceptional care of Orwell Healthcare. Darling husband and best friend of Marie (née Lyons), and dearest Dad of Rachel and David. Remembered with love by his brother Eddie, sister Mary (Kneafsey), sister-in-law Pat, brother-in-law Michael Lyons and family in New Zealand, niece Eimear, nephews Brian and Eoghan, grand-nephews, daughter-in-law Tara, son-in-law Bjørn, extended family including Mary Daly, his relatives and friends. Reposing at home 5pm to 8pm today Wednesday (April 22nd). Commemoration of Gerry’s life at 4pm tomorrow Thursday (April 23rd) in the Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome. Family flowers only. WHELAN - Maureen (née McKey) Willow Grove, Carrick Road, Dundalk. Peacefully in her 98th year on Saturday, 18th April 2026 at Silver Stream Nursing Home. Predeceased by her husband Patrick, parents Vincent and Margaret-Ellen, sister Margaret Nugent (in March of this year), brothers Gerard, Bryan, Vincent and Desmond. Maureen will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her sons and daughters Patricia, Laura, Pascal, Noelle, Adrienne and Damien, son-in-law Sean, daughters-in-law Ann and Jane, her adored grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Mass on Wednesday April 22, at 11am in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, followed by burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. House strictly private by request.

MALLEN - Eimear (née McManus). Formerly of Blackrock, Dublin. Died peacefully on March 31, 2026 in London. Pre-deceased by her parents Benny and Emily, sister Rena and baby Emily. Beloved wife of David and much loved mum of Siobhan, Patrick, Katie, Dominic and Thomas. Sadly missed by her sons-in-law and daughter-in-law. Wonderful nana to Conor, Scarlett, Oliver, Tilly, Tom, Amelie, and Jacob. She will be greatly missed by her family in Ireland. Siblings John, Sally Peters and Stephen, her in-laws, nieces and nephews and many cousins and friends. The funeral will take place in Blackheath London on April 27.

NUNAN - (née Barry) Elizabeth (Betty) (Cork and Blackrock, Co. Dublin) April 18, 2026. Peacefully, in her 94th year in the excellent care of Newtownpark House Nursing Home. Pre-deceased by her loving husband Berney, and her sisters Anne and Peig. Sadly missed by her children Bernice, Anne, Maeve, Frank, Vincent and James, sons and daughters-in-law and partners, Pierre, Chris, Erica, Nicola and Liz, her grandchildren Andrea, Triona, Robbie, Aisling, Abbie, Euan, Harvey, Freddie, Florence, Lyra, Alexandria. Betty will be dearly missed by her eldest sister Frances who was her constant companion. She will be sadly missed by the Conway, Mc Cormick, Ryan families. Her remains will repose today (Monday) from 5pm to 7pm in The Oratory at Newtownpark House Nursing Home, Blackrock. Funeral Mass tomorrow (Tuesday) at 11am in the Church of the Assumption, Booterstown followed by the burial in Shanganagh Cemetery.

MURTAGH - Stephen (Wicklow Hills, Newtownmountkennedy, and late of Tinnahinch House, Avoca, Co. Wicklow), April 17, 2026, peacefully, aged 45 years and after a short illness, surrounded by his much loved and loving family, and while in the exceptional care of the team at The Cedar Ward, St. Vincent’s Private Hospital, Co Dublin. Remembered with love by his heartbroken wife Evelyn, cherished daughter Lucia, parents Nigel and Dolly Murtagh (née McIntyre), brother Eoin, nephews Billy (Godson) and Culann, niece Alice, parents-in-law Margarita and Oscar Eli, sisters-in-law Valerie and Leemarg, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, colleagues in Bank of Ireland, neighbours and his wide circle of friends, including everyone at Newtown Juniors FC.

McCARTHY - Mary, Marika died on April 8, 2026 aged a glorious 96. Much loved wife of the late Michael McCarthy, amazing mother of Tim, Rory and Ursula and proud grandmother of 15 grandchildren. Funeral Mass at Saint Sophia, Moscow Road, London at 11am on April 29.
