HARTIGAN, Patrick J. (Dartry, Dublin 6 and late of Grange, Co. Limerick) 5th July 2026. Peacefully, in the care of the staff at St. James’ Hospital. Dearly beloved husband of the late Ann. Pat will be sadly missed by his sons Padraig, John, Paul and Brian, niece-in-law Jackie, his grandchildren Steven, Scarlett, Fiach, Siún and Daimhin, daughter-in-law Naoise, his sister Joan (Dublin) and brother Jim (Australia), extended family, friends and neighbours. Predeceased by his sister Mary (London). Pat was a gentleman and a scholar, and he was a master storyteller, adored by his extended family. An avid Limerick Man, with a love for Rugby, Horse Racing and all things sport. Warm and loving, he had an ability to bring a smile to everyone he met, had a razor-sharp wit and never missed a trick. "If there is another world, he lives in bliss; if there is none, he made the best of this.” Rest in peace. Reposing at Fanagans Funeral Home, 92 Lower Kimmage Road on Wednesday (8th July) from 4 pm to 7 pm with family in attendance. Removal on Thursday morning to the Church of the Three Patrons, Rathgar, arriving for Funeral Mass at 10 am, followed by burial in Kilternan Cemetery Park.

WILKIE, Walter, peacefully at home on 6th July, 2026. Reunited with his beloved wife, Joan. Loving father to Jennie, Andrew, Louise and Hilary. Fabulous granddad to Laura, Sam, Gavin, Reuben and Noah. He will be fondly remembered and hugely missed by them and siblings David and Liz, daughter-in-law Caroline, son-in-law Christopher, his daughter’s partners Mike and Jim, sisters-in-law Hazel and Gillian, and many nieces, nephews and friends. A Funeral Service will be held in St. Brigid's Church, Stillorgan, on Thursday, 9th July, at 13:00. Family flowers only.

WHELAN, (née Ryan) Maureen (Monkstown, Co. Dublin and late of Oola, Co. Limerick), 5th July 2026 (peacefully), in the excellent care of all the staff at Belmont Nursing Home. Beloved wife of the late Michael and much-loved mother of Ann-Maeve, Fr. Gerry S.J., Brian and Roger. She will be greatly missed by her family. Her brother Jim, son-in-law Damien, daughters-in-law Anna and Julie, her treasured grandchildren Jennifer, Conor, Sarah, Eda. Louis, Sophie, Isabel, Michael, Laura, John and Maggie. Twelve great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Marie, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Rest in Peace. Removal to the Church of St. John the Baptist, Blackrock on Thursday morning (July 9th), arriving for Funeral Mass at 10 am, followed by burial in Shanganagh Cemetery.

GILL, Prof. Denis (Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin) July 5, 2026. Peacefully with his family by his side. Beloved husband of the late Margaret, loving father to Kieron, Daniel, Aisling, Meagan and Michael and uncle to Julie and to all his other nephews and nieces. Grandfather to Daniel, Bláithín, Cormac, Laragh, Ruairí, Ben and Fred and brother of Garrett, Caroline and Maura. A cherished in-law and dear relative to his extended family. He will be sadly missed by his wide circle of friends. Funeral Mass on Thursday, July 9, at 10 am in St. Michael’s Church, Dun Laoghaire, A96 RC98, followed by burial at Shanganagh Cemetery.
