SMITH, Mervyn (Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin) November 30, 2024 at the age of 56 - far too young. Peacefully at the Blackrock Clinic. Beloved husband of Georgina and loving father of Ruby, Zoe and Emily. He will be sadly missed by his shocked and devastated wife and his heartbroken daughters, beloved brother Henry, adoring sisters Siobhan, Sharon, Deirdre and Yvonne, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He will be re-united with his wonderful parents Gus and Pauline in heaven. The family would like to thank Doctor David Fennelly and the wonderful team at the Blackrock Clinic for the outstanding care Mervyn received. Funeral Mass on Wednesday (December 4) at 10am in St Patricks Church, Monkstown followed by burial in Redford Cemetery, Greystones. Family flowers only please. House strictly private. May he rest in peace.

Georgina, Ruby, Zoe and Emily would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all our families and friends - to everyone who travelled, sent cards or letters and attended the funeral. It has been an incredibly difficult year. We are deeply grateful to Dr. David Fennelly and the wonderful team at the Blackrock Clinic for the outstanding care Mervyn received. Thanks also to Fr. Kevin Rowan and Rev Eric Cooney of St. Patricks Church, Monkstown. Mervyn is very missed by us all and his memory lives on.

Siobhan, my heartfelt sympathies to you and family. Yes I knew it was about to be Mervyn's first anniversary. We've both lost our brothers at almost exactly a year's interval. They are both sadly missed. And still we go on...
