SHARP - Michael (Booterstown, Co. Dublin). Michael’s wife Mary, son Ciaran, daughter Cliodhna, and all of his extended family, would like to thank everyone who sympathised with them at the time of Michael’s passing and in the months since. We want to express our sincere thanks to our many friends and family members who were, and continue to be, a tremendous support. Special thanks to all those who attended the funeral home and who joined us in a wonderful celebration of Michael’s life in Mount Jerome, both in person and online, and to everyone who contributed to the service in so many ways. To Philip Byers, for conducting such a personalised, positive and uplifting ceremony, that ensured people in attendance felt they knew Michael better for having been there, we offer our most grateful appreciation. Thank you to everyone who sent letters and cards, for your countless phone calls, messages and emails, and for the overwhelming number of condolences and lovely memories of Michael that were shared on rip.ie. Sincere thanks to the wonderful Palliative Care team in St. Vincent’s University Hospital and the truly exceptional staff of Our Lady’s Hospice, Harolds Cross. To Tommy, Robert, David, Paul, and all at Fanagan’s Funeral Directors, thank you for your most sensitive and professional handling of arrangements. Both the Peter McVerry Trust and Our Lady’s Hospice and Care Services are grateful for all donations received in Michael’s memory. As it will never be possible to thank everybody individually, we trust that this acknowledgment will be accepted as a token of our heartfelt appreciation.

May Michael Rest in Peace.

In tears we saw you sinking,

We watched you fade away,

Our hearts were almost broken,

You fought so hard to stay,

But when we saw you sleeping,

So peacefully free from pain,

We could not wish you back,

To suffer that again
