HALPENNY Joan, Riverstown, Ardee, Co. Louth (April 21, 2011) - On her first anniversary, Joan's sons and daughters, Philip, David, Olive, Cathryn and Mary wish to thank all of her extended family, friends and neighbours who helped her in so many ways in her daily life and, especially, were there for her in her last few days. While impossible to refer to everyone who played their part, we want to make special mention of a few people - all her grandchildren who kept vigil for her and whom she cherished; Maria, who looked after her and the house every day; Felicity and Trudy who minded her at night; Dr Olwyn Lynch who was so considerate and in whom she had such trust; Aisling, Maeve and the other wonderful nurses who cared so kindly for her in her last week; Fr. McGeough who brought such comfort to her at the end; her great friends in Ardee Bridge Club who provided the guard of honour at her funeral; and everyone who called, phoned, sent cards and flowers, brought food and so kindly supported us at the time of Mum's death. We cannot adequately express our gratitude to you all. Her Anniversary Mass will take place at the Church of the Nativity of Our Lady, Ardee, at 12o'clock tomorrow, Sunday, April 22, at which we will pray especially for your intentions.
