<p>Message circulated in TCD to inform staff of Michael's passing</p> <p><span>Dear Colleagues, </span></p> <div>It is with great sadness that I write to inform you of the sudden death of our former colleague Michael Curran. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Rose and his son Michael at this very difficult time. </div> <div><span>Michael’s funeral mass will take place on <span>Thursday 10th at 10am in St. Attracta’s Oratory, Meadowbrook Road followed by burial in Kilmashogue Cemetery</span>. </span></div> <div><span>Michael was in Trinity College for many years, working in the School of Language and Linguistics before joining us in the School of Education. His early work in the area of technology in education and the use of television and media studies in the classroom was pioneering in its day. He worked closely with our B.Ed. Senior Sophister students, providing outstanding support to those who specialised in the area of media education. He worked with our colleagues in AVMS for many years, and could often be found working in the TV studio with Martin Murphy, John </span><span>Rowland</span> <span>and Frank Loftus.</span></div> <div><span>Michael was always a great character to bump into on the Arts Building corridors. He was a natural storyteller and entertainer; a quick witted and gentle man, with a great sense of humour. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. </span><span>Ar dheis De go raibh a anam.</span></div> <div><span>I would be grateful if you inform other friends and colleagues of Michael’s of his sad passing. </span></div> <div><span>Kind regards, </span></div> <div> <div> <div> <div> <div> <div> <div> <div> <div>Carmel</div> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> <div> <div>Dr Carmel O'Sullivan</div> <div>Head of School</div> <div>School of Education</div> <div>Trinity College Dublin</div> </div> </div>
