McCABE, Joe, (Howth, Co. Dublin), died (peacefully), under the excellent care of staff of the Mater Hospital on June 7, 2023 after a short illness, surrounded by his immediate family, deeply missed by his beloved wife Mary, daughter Eithne, son Greg, grandchildren Ciara and Isabel, son-in-law Adrian, brother Frank, sisters-in-law Breda, Finola, Patsy and Ursula, as well as extended family and friends. Predeceased by his brothers Gerry, Vincent, Colum and Jim. A devoted husband, father and grandfather and passionate sailor, he had a remarkable career, including serving as Chairman of IDA, Irish Distillers, Aviva, Norwich Union and Irish Ropes, and Director of the Killeen Group, Cadbury Ireland, and Nokia.
