GRANT, Mary, (née Gorman), (Artane, Dublin and formerly The Lodge, Ballyfin, Co. Laois) June 28, 2022, peacefully, in her 94th year, in the loving care of her family and the wonderful staff of St. Gabriel’s Nursing Home, Edenmore, Dublin 5. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Peter. Much loved mother of Rosemary (McCarthy), Barbara (Menton) and Pauline (Keogh), mother-in-law of Dermot, Malachy and Michael and adored by her grandchildren Conor McCarthy, Emma, Jack and Cathal Menton, granddaughter-in-law Mary Ryan, and her darling great-granddaughter Olivia McCarthy. A former member of Rush Golf Club and past President of Rush Golf Club’s Bridge Club. Sadly missed by her extended family, friends and neighbours. Mary will repose at (her daughter) Barbara's home today (Thursday) from 6.00 pm. to 8.00pm. All are welcome. Funeral Mass to be held tomorrow (Friday) at 11.30am in Our Lady of Mercy Church, Artane, Dublin 5, Eircode D05 FH28, followed by burial in Fingal Cemetery. Family home private. Family flowers only. At the first anniversary of Mary's death, her daughters, Rosemary (McCarthy), Barbara (Menton), Pauline (Keogh) and her extended family wish most sincerely to thank all those who sympathised with them on their sad loss.
A special word of thanks to Sr. Margaret, Chaplain, and all the staff in St. Gabriel's Nursing Home, Glenayle Road for the wonderful care they gave to Mary over the seven years when it was her home. Thank you also to her GP Dr Ronan Cormican, who was so attentive to her for many years. We would like to thank Archbishop Diarmuid Martin, Bishop Derek Byrne SPS, Mons. Liam Bergin, Frs Enda Cunningham, Dermot Ryan and Richard Scriven, who concelebrated Mary's funeral Mass. Thank you to all who attended the Mass, who sent letters and cards and who posted messages on RIP.ie. Thank you also to the team in Frank Jennings undertakers who assisted greatly with the arrangements. As it would not be possible to thank everyone individually, we hope you will accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude. Mass will be offered for all your intentions. Mary will be remembered at Mass at 11 o'clock in the Church of Our Lady of Mercy, Artane on Sunday (June 25) and at Mass at 10 o'clock in St. Andrews Church, Westland Row on Wednesday (June 28).
Reunited with her beloved Peter.
