CASSIDY Dr. Michael (Ballinasloe, Co. Galway) March 17, 2019. On Michael's First Anniversary, his wife Sheila and his daughters, Marianne and Lara, wish to express our deep gratitude to everyone who attended his funeral, sent flowers and mass cards and contacted us through many channels to express their sympathies. We were especially grateful to be able to hold his funeral service in the chapel at Portiuncula Hospital, which was Michae's place of work and his second home for twenty-three years. Under the direction of Father Bernie Costello and Máire Kelly, the service was filled with love, tears, laughter and fond memories. We would like to thank everyone who spoke about Michael; together they painted a picture of a brilliant, kind, dedicated man with a wry sense of humour and an utterly unique perspective on life. We would like to extend special thanks to Michael's colleagues and friends in the laboratory and throughout Portiuncula for their constant care and support . Many thanks also to Mr. Donncha O'Brien and his team at Beaumont Hospital, Dr. Gerry Clarke at Portiuncula Hospital, Dr. David Fitzpatrick and the staff at St. Luke's Hospital and to Dr. Stephen Higgins and everyone who cared for him so wonderfully at Our Lady's Hospice, Harold's Cross. Finally we would like to thank all our friends and family who supported us with unwavering love and compassion through the final months of Michael's life and continue to support us as we come to terms with his loss. He was the best husband and father anyone could ask for and we miss him every day.
