O'CONNOR Margaret died January 10, 2015, in the presence of family, surrounded by the loving support and care of staff and friends in Newtownpark House, Blackrock where she resided from 2008. Margaret was born in Moy, Co. Tyrone, she grew up in Warrenpoint, Co. Down later moving to Dublin to join the civil service. Graduating with a B.A. from U.C.D. and H.Dip. from Trinity, she taught for many years in Loreto Abbey, Dalkey. Margaret celebrated her 90th birthday in August 2014. Her husband, Michael, pre-deceased her. Margaret's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren wish to express their deep appreciation to extended family, friends and colleagues for their sympathy and support upon Margaret's death, at her funeral and in the months since. Her family feel privileged to realise the esteem in which she was held by many and the lives she touched. They wish to thank Fr. Kennedy, sacristan Robert Thomas, organist Rónán Murray, baritone Simon Morgan and those in the parish centre, all of whom helped to make Margaret's funeral in St. Joseph's Church, Glasthule a true celebration of her life. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered as a gesture of thanks to all. It was Margaret's wish to donate her body for scientific research. In time, her remains will rest with those of her parents, Patrick and Isobel Slavin, in Deans Grange Cemetery."i gcónaí inár measc"
