Billie Barry - a great trooper

Sending love, peace and thoughts to all the family on Billie's passing. She was my auntie. I last saw her when was I was very young..in Dublin in 1959, before we emigrated to Australia. Her presence has followed me across Australia all my life. Whenever I met anyone from Ireland I'd always say "you probably know my auntie". Most of the time, they did!...and spoke of her with great affection and respect. Reading a recent interview with Billie brought back so many things that my own mam had spoken of. They were both "show-people" and a little of that has rubbed off on many of their children. I'm sad that she is gone, but so glad that she lived a long and full life. She was the epitome of the great troopers of stage and song. Rest in Peace now Billie... a life well lived xxxx

Peter Walker, Sydney, Australai

Auntie Billie
Dolores, Raymond, Evelyn and Peter (nieces and nephews from Australia) would like to say how very sorry we were to hear of your passing. Dolores remembers attending your dancing school when it first started in Fairview with our Mother (your sister) Sheila playing piano. Dolores and Evelyn also came over to the 40th Anniversary Concert. Thank you Auntie Billie you are a 'real trooper'
