O'CALLAGHAN Eadbhard, Professor, (Glenageary, Co. Dublin, died May 2, 2011) - On the occasion of the First Anniversary of Eadbhard's death, we his family would like to thank all those who wrote to us, sent us flowers, and sympathised with us. We as a family were overwhelmed by your generosity, kindness, and support; all of which provided us with a source of great comfort. We thank all those who attended the removal and funeral. We thank Fr. Pat Mangan retired PP. Dunlaoghaire whose guidance, support,and pastoral concern helped us as a family in our hour of need. He delivered a wonderful sermon - raising awareness of mental illness in Ireland which was close to Eadbhard's heart. We thank Eadbhard's friends (who remained a tremendous support to him throughout), Dr. John Murphy, Dr. John O'Connor, Dr. Patrice Murphy, along with Conor, Norman, John and Ann Caslin. We thank Eadbhard's cousins, the Fentons from Limerick Anne, Mike, and Anne Guiry for their support. Virginia thanks Denise, Siobhan, Mary, Tania, Caroline, Yvonne, Sara, Susan, and Genie, Caroline Murphy and Joanne Cosgrave for their unwavering support. Virginia also thanks Ann, Mona and Jill for their help and encouragement. Caolán thanks William, Charlie, Dominic, Tim, Andy, Steve, Niall, Neil, Katie, Sean T, James Cas and Emily, along with Dr. Eamonn Kenny for their constant help, and loyalty. Oisín thanks Sean, Fintan, Ciarán, Stephen, Enda, Mark, Hugh, Andy, Fionn, Richie, Lorcan, Kevin, Matthew, Andy, Charlie Kelly, and Bert. Harry thanks Matthew, Michael, Rowan, Alex, Andrew, Roddy, and Harry C. and his football coach Francis. Eadbhard thanks Calum, Gareth, Jamie, Matthew, Alex Caslin, Alex McEvoy and Ali. We were grateful for the support from Gonzaga College, in particular Fr. Kennedy O'Brien SJ and Mr. Stewart. We also thank Mrs. Kelly, Hollypark BNS. We are grateful to Br. Laurence, and all the brothers of St. John of God order who were so good to us and for all their prayers. We thank DETECT in Blackrock, all the doctors and psychologists Niall and Liz with whom Eadbhard worked, especially Dr. Conal Larkin and Professor Kevin Malone. We thank the nurses in SVPH. who looked after Eadbhard with loving care; Breda McCoy, Jean, Emer, and Ann Kilgallen. We thank Joey's FC, especially George Forsyth and all the managers. We thank Sir Robin Murray for his touching eulogy. Finally, we would like to thank Grainne, Paul, Fiona, Aeveen, Carol and Paul, Owen and Gertie and especially Owen, Caroline and David. Mass will take place in SJOG Hospital Chapel on Sat April 28 at 3pm.
