LEYDON - Aonghus; Goff St., Roscommon Town, The Auld Shillelagh & W.B. Yeats, London. 3rd February 2026. Peacefully after a long illness bravely borne, surrounded by his loving family at St Vincents University Hospital, Elm Park, Dublin and Roscommon Hospice. Beloved eldest son of Ríona and recently deceased Seán, loving brother of Aisling, Máire, Toirealach, Nollaig, Seán Óg, Tomás and Ailbhe. Adored Uncle of Zara, Thomas, James, Ethan, Adam, Conor, Rónán, Jayne Catherine, William, Samuel, Aoife, Ciarán, Caoimhe, Oisín, Saoirse and Éabha. Cherished Godfather of Zara, Pearse, Sydney, Samuel and Rónán. Deeply mourned by his Brothers-in-law Thomas Carthy, Paul Tighe, Eric Godfrey and Owen Dunne, Sister-in-law Iwona Leydon, Toirealachs partner Jim OBrien, Seán Ógs partner Ruth, and by his aunts Mary McCarthy, Anne OBrien and Gretta Sheeran, uncles-in-law Gabriel, John and Pat. Sadly missed by all his cousins. Fondly remembered by his wide circle of dear friends. May Aonghus rest in peace. In accordance with Aonghus wishes, House and Funeral Mass strictly private please. A Memorial Mass will be held in London at a later date. The Leydon family would like to express their sincere thanks to all the doctors, nurses and staff who tended with such care and attention to Aonghus during his illness. They would also like to acknowledge all his wonderful neighbours, customers, staff and friends for their kindness and truly appreciate that their privacy is respected at this time.
