BURNS, Fr. Dermot (Pastor Emeritus of Straide, Foxford, Co. Mayo and formerly of The Square, Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon) - On the First Anniversary of his death, his twin brother Pat wishes, on his own behalf and on behalf of his sister Joan and brother Frank, to thank most sincerely Bishop Brendan Kelly and the clergy of the Diocese of Achonry and further afield. Thank you to Fr. Martin Convey PP, Straide for his support and friendship to Fr. Dermot and to us, Fr. Dermot's family and for preaching at his funeral Mass. Thank you to our lifelong friend Fr. Tommy Towey PP, Ballisodare. Thank you to the choir, Mass servers and to those who prepared Fr. Dermot's final resting place. Thank you to Padraig Doherty, Funeral Director Straide for his kindness and professionalism. Thanks to Fr. Dermot's wonderful former parishioners and neighbours in Straide and in all the parishes in which he served. Thank you for the support and friendship over the years which was greatly appreciated. Thanks, also, to those who provided refreshments in the Community Hall and to all who helped in any way. Thank you to Prof. Michael O'Dwyer and the staff of Our Lady of Knock Unit, Galway Clinic and to all who helped Fr. Dermot during his illness. To all who attended Ss. Peter and Paul's Church and sent Mass cards, letters and floral tributes, a sincere thanks. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for your intentions. Fr. Dermot's First Anniversary Mass will take place in Ss. Peter and Paul's Church, Straide at 11am on Sunday April 22 (Vocations Sunday).
