KAVANAGH Dr. Brian Patrick. On this the First Anniversary of Brian's untimely death (June 15, 2019) we, his siblings Sarah, Mary, John F. and Brona would like to thank all those who offered their sympathies at the time of his death. Brian will be forever remembered by us, by his daughters Daire and Aifric, his partner Briseida, his aunts Una and Deirdre, his extended family and his previous partners Hilary and Hannah. The outpouring of support whether in person, by e-mail, letter or card was very much appreciated. The love and respect for Brian was very evident in the tributes from friends and colleagues not only in Ireland and Canada but worldwide. We would like to thank the staff of Toronto General Hospital for their excellent care over the course of Brian's illness but particularly in the last two weeks of his life. The professionalism, care and love that they showed was deeply appreciated. Many of them were friends of Brian while also being charged with his care which made it an especially difficult time for them. We would like to thank his close friends from Ireland Dr. John Nolan, Dr. John Boylan and Dr. Maria Donnelly who provided great support to Brian. We appreciated Maria's heartfelt tribute to Brian which she gave at the memorial service in St. Andrew's Church, Toronto on June 20. At that gathering hundreds of friends and colleagues as well as family members paid warm tributes to Brian. We thank all those who came to the celebration of Brian's life in the Schoolhouse in Dublin last July, where stories and memories were shared. We all appreciated the fine traditional music played by his friends from the Cobblestone - how he would have enjoyed that session! Among his many talents Brian was a gifted Uilleann Piper and on his regular visits to Dublin he loved nothing better than to meet up and play the pipes with these friends. We thank all who continue to support us. Brian was dearly loved and is deeply missed.Ní bheidh a leithéid ann arís.

I take a walk through UCD each day and sit on a bench by the lake that has a beautiful inscription dedicated to Dr Brian Kavanagh. Today I googled his name and read about what a wonderful man he was. I will say a prayer today in his memory

So sorry to read this, having missed the original notice of Brian's death. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. We were classmates in UCD and I was in touch with him more recently through music. Geraldine Morrow
