LAFFAN - Michael (Monkstown, Co. Dublin), (January 5, 2022) - On this the First Anniversary of Michael’s tragic death while swimming at Sea Point, Brigid, Diarmuid, Kate and Roisin want to acknowledge and thank all those whose love, support and sympathy carried us through this year. We especially thank the Burns and Laffan extended families, the swimmers of Sea Point, the brave swimmers who went into the water to bring Michael out, the doctors and nurses who administered CPR at Sea Point, the RNLI, the ambulance crew and the staff of St Vincent’s Hospital. A heartfelt thanks to Fr. Kevin, Fr. Tom and Fr. Michael who conducted the celebration of Michael’s life, and to all those who attended Michael’s funeral mass, sent sympathy and mass cards and kept us in food for weeks. The care and kindness we have been shown will live with us forever. Forever missed, may Michael rest in peace hovering over Sea Point, the sea that held him.
