McCULLAGH, The Right Rev. Canon Mervyn Alexander - We imagined growing old together holding hands and helping others along life's sometimes difficult highway but he was called to a higher service and left this life exactly one year ago to-day. Mervyn is greatly missed more than words can ever express here by everyone whose lives he touched with his gentle presence, wise counsel, kindness, good humour and friendship. Especially by his loving wife Hilary, his sister Ann, cousins, sister-in-law Mrs Jeanette Wilson and family, nephews and nieces in U.S.A. together with the many friends here in Ireland, the U.K. and South Africa. Mrs Hilary McCullagh wishes to acknowledge the support of her sister Jeanette and close friends. Also the kindness of her Bishop, Michael Burrows, Fr. Tommy Dillon P.P., Brother Ambrose of Bolton Abbey, Co. Kildare, friends and neighbours and the compassion shown by others throughout this past year.
