Formerly an outstanding schoolmaster at Belgrove School, Clontarf, Dublin, in the 1960s. An inspiring teacher, choir leader, and all round nice man.

Before joining the priesthood Canon Des taught in Belgrove National School Clontarf Dublin in the 1950's. He was an outstanding and much loved teacher who had a tremendous influence on all his students. In addition to the normal curriculum he conducted the school and parish church choir along with running Latin classes after school hours. A wonderful man and a lifelong friend.

Mgr Gabriel Leyden

Gabriel Leyden (Rev Monsignor)

I am a priest of the Diocese of Clifton and I have known Desmond Millett since he was ordained. A most talented and gifted priest loved and respected by all. He has given wonderful service to our Diocese and the Lord has blessed him with a long life. He is now sharing in the Lord's risen life in heaven, no doubt, conducting the Angelic chorus. I have said Mass for Des and I offer sympathy to his family and many friends. May Des' gentle soul rest in peace.
