Piano teacher and friend

I took piano lessons from John while I was studying music at UCC. He was not only my teacher but a good friend. He had a great personality, enjoyed making people laugh and most of all, enjoyed playing music. I remember him playing some of his compositions for me at his house where I used to go for lessons. He had a great heart and will be missed by a lot of people.

Sympathy
I too was a pupil of our lovely late Rhona Marshall and know how much she thought of Johnnie although he was a number of years younger than me so I really only knew him via Rhona. Sincere sympathy to you all. It's very hard when it's sudden and I guess he was younger than most if not all of you.
