SULLIVAN Dr. John Bernard, (Rock Lodge, Rock Cross, Cavan, died April 15, 2017) - John's wife Irene, his daughter Tara, son Jack, his son-in-law John, his grandchildren Johnny and Bay, his sisters Carina, Aine, Francis and all his extended family, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to all those who sympathised with us and sent Mass and Sympathy Cards. Thank you to all who called to the house, to all those who attended John's reposing and funeral especially his many colleagues and friends and to all those who travelled long and short distances to be with us at this very sad time. A special thank you for your very kind donations to the Irish Transplant Association. A very, very special thank you to all the staff in Cavan General Hospital in A/E ICU who took such wonderful care of John. Also a very special thank you to Professor James Hayes, Dr. Ciaran Hannon and all the great doctors and nurses. Thank you to the Mater Private Hospital for taking care of John over the last year. A very special thank you to our ambulance service who helped us out on more than one occasion. Thank you all for kindness, courtesy and help. A very special thank you to Fr. Kevin Donohoe, Fr. Kevin Fay, Fr. Tom McKiernan, Fr. Charles O'Gorman who celebrated John's life with a beautiful and intimate Mass. Thanks also to Fr. Martin Gilcreest, Chaplain, Cavan General Hospital. Thanks to Eileen Tackney and Martina Boyle for their beautiful music. Thank you to Cavan County Board, Cavan Gaels GAA Club and also Cavan United Nations Veterans Associations for their Guard of Honour.Thanks also to Sergeant Joe 0'Connor for monitoring the traffic on the day of John's Funeral. A special thank you to John and Philip McMahon, Funeral Directors for their professionalism and kindness at this very sad time. Thank you to the gravediggers who prepared John's final resting place. To Pauric Rudden, Ruddens Railway Road, Cavan, who provided provisions of soup, sandwiches, deserts and soft drinks, it was very much appreciated by the family. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
