TIERNAN Peter (Kells Bay and Dublin, died September 26, 2011) - Peter's family would like to thank the many people who helped and supported us in so many countless ways during his illness and our sad loss. Our warmest thanks go to our own wonderful extended families, friends, neighbours and colleagues. Our heartfelt appreciation to all who took care of Peter with courage, strength and dignity. Thank you to the teachers from James's Street and to all his friends in the world of mathematics for travelling to Kerry to pay tribute to "the master". To PJ Fitzpatrick for his understanding and help with the funeral arrangements we are truly grateful. To all the hundreds of people from near and far who attended the wake, those who looked after us with food and comfort and to our dearest friends and closest neighbours who kept the traditional vigil over Peter until dawn, we will never forget your kindness. To the children of Filemore School for their touching silent tribute as the cortege passed, to all who attended and contributed to the celebration of Peter's life - a special thanks to Canon Billy for his spiritually uplifting prayers and homily, to Cormac and Eilis for their beautiful soothing music. Every letter, card, telephone call and memory shared is treasured. We are gathering at our home on Saturday 29th to remember Peter and to welcome our newest granddaughter baby Elizabeth to Kells. First Anniversary Mass will be at 10am Sunday 30th September at Filemore.
